This series will feature an interview and style session with a creative, successful woman in an effort to explore their relationship with fashion, career and life. We want to know how they got where they are, what they love, what they've learned and what they wear.

Christina Sicoli is a lot of things: actor, writer, comedienne, producer… gifted storyteller, denim enthusiast, and all around girl's girl. She's the type of woman where a quick coffee turns into hours of easy conversation - a straight-talker who gives great advice. She's quick to offer pearls of wisdom passed on from her charming and wise 91-year-old grandfather, such as: "If you don't have time to shop, what's the point of living?" Hard to argue with that.

Christina effortlessly mixes vintage finds with heirloom treasures and high-impact, fashion forward pieces to create a look that is trend driven and timeless at once. Below, a conversation about style, work, wisdom and the beauty of looking forward.

Can you share what it means to you to have a self-made career and to work independently?

For me, I've always been a firm believer in creating my own work, producing original material; building relationships and carving my own path. Nobody will work harder for you, than you. Nobody knows your capabilities and talents more than you, so execute you. There's power in creating material and collaborating with others. This frees my spirit and keeps me inspired.

Christina wears Horses Atelier High-Waisted Overalls.

Describe a personal ritual?

I take a bath every night. I love it. I love my suds, my salts, my candles, my magazines and books. It's a time when I'm not trying to do a million things at once and can just lay in tub full of bubbly water. It's a time to decompress, shut off, and hopefully not fall asleep in the bathtub... although its happened many of times…

What quality do you value most in another person?

Christina wears WHIT Balloon Top and Prism Skirt.

Whom and what inspires your style?

I love an effortless, classic style - curated vintage and statement pieces. Most of the time my style depends on my mood. I'm inspired by pieces that are well made and feel good. I love to wear pieces that are still “me,” whether they be edgy, sexy or simple. I love Sienna Miller, Caroline de Marigret, Leandra Medine and Clemence Poesy.

“You gotta stay busy, work, and keep healthy. Don't look back, keep looking forward” - Papa Sicoli, 91.

Shoes....and then some.

Current obsession?

Ugh! I have so many. The Maryam Nassir Zadeh turquoise suede Roberta heel. They were last season and I am still trying to seek them out. The aqua suede is pretty amazing from this season too. Always obsessed with denim; whether it's a salvaged pair of wranglers, a onsie, or a pair of Rachel Comey's. Washes, treatments and dyes, Oh My! And everything Byredo. Sigh...sorry my obsessions come in threes.

What's the biggest lesson you've learned?

Listen to your gut.

What do you eat for breakfast?

Smoothies or a fresh juice. Throw in some avocado-on-toast or granola with almond milk and a good ol Americano...or two.

This is the first I have seen in this series thank you, Christina is my daughter in law and I love her. I enjoy her company immensely she is fun to be with, a true comedienne and passionate about her work….too bad we don’t see more of her in movie comedy rolls…
